The Henley

After a successful pitch for The Albert, our client returned to Robot House for another round of brand identity on a second property. The red tile roof drove the client’s inspiration as he envisioned palm trees, retro imagery, and undertones of rock and roll for the apartment complex. The name was quickly decided upon, so from there the concept unfolded.

Key Considerations

  • The client came to us with a dream, so it was our job to help mold it into reality. Specific retro influences pushed us to do our research, but it was also important not to get too sucked into a theme.

  • Though the client was decided upon a stylistic direction, it was important to remember the target audience and to cater to something that would attract the right crowd as well. This apartment complex is located near a medical university which draws many young students. It is also located in the innovation district of OKC, known for it’s creativity and forward-thinking.

  • Since these apartments weren’t being constructed specifically for this brand, it was important to make sure that the architectural structures and historical building limitations were considered early on to create a cohesive solution.

Inspiration

Hotel California

Entranced by the dreamy laid-back vibes and nostalgic coastal tunes from this Eagles’ song, the client craved a solution reminiscent to the same warmth and familiarity. Though this song was a driver for the theme, it was important to find a solution that subtly alluded to the reference while still pulling in a younger target audience.

Fremont Street

From the vibrant color palette to the custom sign lettering, this famous street inspired the fun and approachability of the brand. The client craved something unique to set the brand apart, and this avenue provided just the right amount of inspiration.
